About Your Yoga Teacher:
My name is Alex and I am a yoga instructor who received my 200-hour Teacher Training Course in Rishikesh, India focusing on Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, and Yoga Nidra but the journey began long before that. I started Yoga as a way to get more flexible for the MMA training I was receiving and to help with spinal and postural problems I developed during wrestling. After doing my first few sessions, I realized it was much more than just getting flexible or exercise. I found that after every class I was more centered and calm both physically and mentally. This was extremely important as I worked in mental health for a long time and often my stress levels were sometimes extremely high. I have degrees in psychology, philosophy and also took a year of personal training courses. As I continued my practice, it seemed that Yoga could help me combine my passions of therapy, physical fitness, and philosophical concepts. Through my travels in India, Myanmar, and Thailand, I studied various types of meditation and so I like to include these aspects into my classes as well. My time in India helped me understand the core concepts and origins of yoga and my time in the United States has helped me understand the different ways in which it is evolving. I am happy to say that after 7 years of yoga I have corrected almost all of my spine problems and have grown to where I am more balanced physically and mentally. I am a person who very well knows the struggles but also the great rewards yoga can bring. Come to one of my classes and experience the physical and mental benefits for yourself. It is always a good time for self-improvement. Thank you and Namaste.
