Opening March 4th At Spectra Art Space
Showcasing Series:
Multi-Faceted
“A kaleidoscope of thoughts represented through repetitive Cyanotype prints. ”
Can you give us an artist statement for the series you will be showcasing in March for Snapped at Spectra Art Space?
“Frequently a repetition of words or images enters my mind only to refuse to leave. The Idea or thought multiplies into a kaleidoscope of interpretations and opinions resulting in either anxiety or a new perspective. The Series “Multi-Faceted” is a visual exploration of a mind searching for sense, it is the late night thoughts that keep us awake and the realization that there is another way to see the situation, it is the internal fight and the stubbornness which keeps us from learning. The images facing in different directions stem from the biblical story of the arch. The angels would face towards each other when “god” was happy with the people and away from each other when there was trouble. The faces turned in different directions are our own opinions and thoughts agreeing and disagreeing.
I use Cyanotype as it is a historic process that represents a rich historic ideal with a modern understanding of old concepts. Each negative is assembled digitally and then printed by hand with cyanotype on water color paper. “

Leah Diament The Artists:
“I am a Denver based photographer with a passion for street photography and portraiture. My photography aims to highlight the ridiculousness and beauty in day to day life.
I love to take photographs and bring them in to the 3D world through alternative print processes and collage techniques.
I find myself most inspired when I am experimenting with new printing processes and films. The thrill of exploring a new way of expressing my favorite medium keeps me looking for new ways to capture people in their most authentic moments.”
