Opening March 4th At Spectra Art Space
Showcasing Series:
The Body Obscura
“See the beauty, in unconventional beauty. ”
Can you give us an artist statement for the series you will be showcasing in March?
“This is the second edition from the original sold out show in New York City, and Aqua Art Miami. .\While pushing the boundaries on judgment, these images will push you even further. Again breaking the mold of the traditional nude versus what the world’s publications are saturated in. Amanda pushes body identity to the other side of the spectrum, exploring another non-mainstream aspect of beauty.”
Tell us about the process for the series?
“I did not want to create an image that is like an illusion such as the one’s we are bombarded with in the media. I essentially “pushed the slider” in a complete opposite direction to gritty realism. But also at the same time I offer a piece that deserves the respect that it is (as) finished as a fine art painting. Each small detail, and tones are rich bodied such as my subject.”
