“Listen to me, I’ve been out of circulation for so long I’ve completely forgotten social niceties. You asked me how I am I’m not really supposed to say how I am, I’m supposed to say…”
Can you give us an artist statement for the series you will be showcasing in March?
“There is a melancholy we’re supposed to have when it concerns digital media and social media. We’re supposed to be mindful of not posting too many travel photos, selfies, food photos, photos of us having fun … or else be perceived as someone taunting or being insensitive to others. Our platform of expression is something that we have to be mindful of.. so they say. But who is “they”?”
What was your process for the new series?
“I take pictures of anything that gets me in the moment. I like sharing the moment. It could be tasty food or just the sight before my eyes. If it made me feel then I want you to feel.”
